ATOC Ltd represents Britain’s train companies and manages Railcards on their behalf.

Your privacy is important to us. We will not release your personal details to any company for marketing purposes without your consent.

The following details the marketing communications we send to our customers.

Online Railcard Accounts & Applications

If you start but don’t complete a Railcard application online, we will send you up to 2 reminders. If you consented to marketing during the registration process, we will also share your data with our supplier to send you reminders via our digital marketing channels.

If you don’t complete your application or log into your account within 30 days, all information that you have entered for your application will be deleted.

Please note this excludes 16-17 Saver and Veterans Railcard. For these products your account is not created and no personal information is saved until you have completed your purchase.

Marketing Consent – ATOC Ltd

If you buy a Railcard or 16-17 Saver online, over the phone, by post or in person at a National Rail station ticket office or licensed third party, we will record your marketing consent preferences.

If you have consented to receive special offers, promotions, news and updates from ATOC Ltd, we will send you:

  • Railcard specific offers and updates
  • Information and special offers about other National Rail products and services, including National Rail Enquiries, DaysOutGuide.co.uk and MyInterRail.
  • Special offers and promotions about our selected partners, including the days out, lifestyle, theatre and travel brands below. From time to time the partners that we work with might change with new ones coming onboard and others departing. We will send you marketing messages while your Railcard is active and for two years after your Railcard expires. We use tracking in our emails to measure delivery and open rates.

How to opt-out of receiving marketing messages from ATOC Ltd

If you have a valid Railcard or 16-17 Saver that you purchased online from our website, you can change your marketing consent preferences at any time by logging in to your Railcard account. To update your preferences, select ‘Details’ of each Railcard and then ‘Manage Railcard Communication Preferences’.

Alternatively, all customers can change their marketing consent preference at any time in the following ways:

  • When you receive a Railcard branded email from us, you can select the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email; or
  • You can choose to unsubscribe via this webform.

Marketing Consent – Train Companies

If you have consented to receive special offers, promotions, news and updates from train companies, the train companies that run services in your region may send you communications with special offers, promotions and updates on services.

Train companies will send you marketing messages while your Railcard is active and for one year after your Railcard expires.

How to opt-out of receiving marketing messages from Train Companies

If you have a valid Railcard or a 16-17 Saver that you purchased online from one of our Railcard websites, you can change your marketing consent preferences at any time by logging in to your Railcard account. To update your preferences, select ‘Details’ of each Railcard and then ‘Manage Railcard Communication Preferences’.

Alternatively, all customers can change their marketing consent preference at any time in the following ways:

  • When you receive an email from a train company, you can select the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email; or
  • You can contact us by email, phone or post.

Renewal & Reminder Notices

We will contact you when your Railcard or a 16-17 Saver is close to expiry provided we hold accurate contact details. If you have provided an email address we may send you emails to remind you to renew your Railcard.

If we don’t hold a valid email address for you, we may send you a renewal notice by post.

Segmentation & Profiling

If you have consented to marketing when registering for a Railcard, our third-party provider LiveRamp will use your data to create profiles that identify others who have similar characteristics and may also be interested in our offers. The data they use is non-identifiable and grouped for similarities.

If you wish to be excluded from this process, please click here, select ‘Restrict Processing’ and detail that you would like to be excluded from segmentation and profiling.
